Dear Sandusky Community,
You have probably experienced a time of growing pains from a transition or a change in your life.  Growing pains can arise from a graduation, moving to a new house, a new job, preparing for marriage, experiencing a loss of a loved one, or receiving a tough diagnosis.
In St. Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians, he writes, “ For this momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to what is seen but to what is unseen; for what is seen is transitory, but what is unseen is eternal.”  In times of transition or growing pains, am I focusing on the discomfort I can see or can I allow God’s unseen power transform this situation?  Growing pains and transitions are never easy, but they challenge us to trust God to move in our lives for the sake of eternity in unseen ways.
On June 15th, I will step away from being the Director of Sandusky Life Teen (High School Youth Ministry) to become the Director of Youth Faith Formation at Little Flower Parish in Toledo.  This is certainly a growing pain for me as I have loved serving our community by leading teens and families closer to Christ.  I was blessed to witness families growing in their faith, have had amazing conversations with teens, have prayed with teens and parents through struggles, and have seen many become college adults living out their faith.  This role challenged me as someone entering into full time ministry and has affirmed that God has been leading me to serve His people in new and unexpected ways.  I have been continually humbled and have been honored to serve our parishes over the last 3 years.
Please pray for me as I make this transition.  Please pray for our teens and families as the search for a new Director of Sandusky Life Teen begins.  I will continue to keep Sandusky in my prayers.
In the Peace of Christ,
Kathy West
Director of Sandusky Life Teen
