Dear SCCS Families & Friends,

It is indeed a pleasure to welcome our students, staff and

entire school community to the 2019-20 school year at

Sandusky Central Catholic School. Our teachers will be

returning to their classrooms Monday, August 19 in

preparation for their students’ arrival on Thursday, August 22.

The SCCS faculty and staff accept the great responsibility of educating our future. We accept this awesome responsibility with humility, vigor, compassion and courage. We pledge to you our passion for the individual security, safety and success of each child.

The SCCS team, parents, and surrounding community share a common vision. We strive to provide rigorous academic programming, steeped in our Catholic values, in a safe, warm and nurturing learning environment, where students can blossom and grow as Disciples of Christ and future leaders for our community and beyond. It is our goal that all students will leave SCCS with the academic skills needed to successfully pursue their futures, whether that be in college or in the workforce and will have developed an understanding and relationship with Jesus Christ.

The map to that common vision is defined in the Strategic Plan developed by a group of school community stakeholders and approved by our Board of Directors last year. As part of this plan, we offer our unfailing desire to serve our students and our community and to:

  • Build leaders who are confident, service-minded, and prepared for life by offering families a strong value for their investment in a Catholic education.
  • Empower all students through a rigorous academic program that builds character and the necessary skills to be the best versions of themselves.
  • Equip all students and staff with appropriate facilities and instructional resources to succeed in a globally competitive environment.
  • Grow our community presence to bring our internal and external communities closer together.

To ensure this success, the SCCS faculty and staff are dedicated to the use of sound instructional practices and high-quality instructional materials, including the integration of technology throughout the curriculum. Our focus is that students will develop a strong academic core through the use of technology and an intentional focus on meeting the needs of each individual learner.

I am proud to be working with such a talented and dedicated staff in a school where our parish communities are supportive of our efforts. Children are our greatest natural resource. We take seriously our responsibility to nourish, protect and develop children to their fullest potential. I look forward to working alongside each of you through the school year at various volunteering opportunities.

Thank you for your trust in us and in supporting the efforts of Sandusky Central Catholic School!

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Geoff Palmer, President/Head of School
